My name is Megan, and I bake my handmade cakes and artisan goodies from my kitchen in Maenclochog, a small village at the foot of the Preseli hills in beautiful rural Pembrokeshire.
“Rhwbeth Melys” is the Welsh term for “something sweet”, making my business the perfect outlet for your sugary cravings. My interest in sweet treats quickly became my passion, which, in turn, became my career. My artistic background inspires the creative designs of my bespoke handmade cakes. I am constantly updating and honing my skills so that my handmade cakes look as spectacular as they taste.
Taste is the most important thing for me, which is why my delicious custom made cakes are made from the finest local produce, and crafted in my kitchen, which has been rated 5 for hygiene from the Food Standards Agency. It’s this high standard, along with my attention to detail when talking to my clients and when perfecting their orders, which make my handmade cakes the most premium indulgent treats for your special occasions.

It is very difficult to provide an exact price for each individual cake as they are made specially to order. Please feel free to contact Rhwbeth Melys in order for me to give you a better understanding of pricing, as this changes according to cake size, flavour and complexity of design.
All sponges are 4 inches tall, and come in a variety of flavours. The table below shows approximate portion servings. Fruit cake, however, is usually cut in smaller portions, and therefore the portion guide doesn’t apply for this particular cake.
Cake flavours and fillings:
My most popular and well-loved flavours are our Victoria Sponge, the traditional favourite vanilla flavoured sponge with a raspberry jam filling, and my Chocolate Sponge, which is a chocoholic’s dream as it’s filled with rich chocolate icing.
Fancy tickling your taste buds with something a little different? My varied range of other delicious cake flavours include salted caramel, chocolate orange, lemon, white chocolate, white chocolate and raspberry, red velvet, carrot cake, orange, banana, coffee and banoffee. I also offer all of these mouth-watering flavours to order as cupcakes.
Fruit cake is a long-standing favourite, packed with juicy raisins and cherries, blanketed in rich marzipan under a layer of velvety icing.
Additional cake flavours, fillings, icings and toppings are available in request – I encourage you to be creative, and always welcome a culinary challenge.
Gluten free cakes are available on request for anyone with special dietary requirements. Rhwbeth Melys does not operate a nut free kitchen. Most of my cakes don’t actually contain nuts, but for those of you with nut allergies, we’re afraid that we cannot ensure your safety when consuming cakes prepared in our kitchen.
